The fly wheel is a heavy metal wheel attached to a drive shaft with its weight duly concentrated on the circumference. It is used to reduce speed fluctuation by storing extra energy as kinetic energy at the time of part load and during overloading it releases the energy. Steady increase in the speed of flywheel allows small motor to store energy for effectively perform a function.
